Prof. Dr. Antoine van Kampen
After completing his Ph.D. in chemometrics at Radboud University Nijmegen, Antoine van Kampen has been working in bioinformatics at the Amsterdam University Medical Centers (AMC) since 1997. He is the head of the Bioinformatics Laboratory and holds the chair of Medical Bioinformatics at the Faculty of Medicine. His research focuses on computational modeling of the immune system and its connection with bioinformatics/omics.
Van Kampen teaches bioinformatics and systems biology in various programs at the University of Amsterdam and Vrije Universiteit. From 2006 to 2010, he served as the scientific director of the Netherlands Bioinformatics Centre and is currently a member of the steering committees for the UvA Data Science Center and the UvA ICT for Research committee.
